Marathon Monday: Hitting Reset

Alright ya’ll
I know its not Monday, and I know I’m not Southern and have no right to the “ya’ll” phrase but it felt right so we are going for it.

It’s time to hit that reset button. Note: When I told this to Manfriend, he immediately went

Manfriend: *makes computer noises* bleep boop bleep

It has been exactly 5 weeks and 1 day since my last real run.  Since than I have had my fair share of peanut butter cookies that I baked two days ago and made Manfriend toss the last 4 tonight, pretzel M&Ms, ice cream sandwiches (I blame my brother for that obsession that started when he was here) and downright awful lunches. Like we are talking a rice bowl. Just rice.

Now, I will not beat myself up over the past (and neither should you, for the record). And one bag of the four I’ve eaten so far of the Pretzel M&M’s are a freebie because they were wallowing M&Ms, and as I wrote last time — Wallowing M&Ms aren’t bad for you. They are healing.

Anyways, the point I’m getting to with all of this is I have hit a reset button. As of 6:01pm (9:01pm because I ate Wendy’s for dinner), Pacific Standard Time, I, Amalia, will be executing a three part half marathon plan.

Part One: RUN GIRL RUN

I will be executing at least three runs a week, led by the most amazing @SolanaLeigh who I’m pretty sure must be tired of me singing her praises by now.

I am going to get out there and run. I’m feeling pretty good, my schedules (for another week anyways) are only filled with two days of 16 hours of work — and I can get out there and run.

I’ve done it before I can do it again!

Part Two: EAT GIRL EAT (healthy)

I am going to stay accountable to what I eat and share in every glorious bite with you guys. Don’t worry, I won’t bomb your twitter/instagram/facebook/blog reading time with numerous accounts of foodstuffs, but I will recap the best and worst of the week for you.

To be completely honest, I had a baked potato with butter, chives and sour cream and a double cheeseburger with an iced tea for dinner. Yum. Last burger before the marathon unless they are homemade — I promise!

Part Three: SLEEP GIRL SLEEP (and stay motivated)

I am so determined to keep sleeping and therefore chase sickness away! I am going to sleep as much as possible around my double shifts so those days aren’t too wearing on me.

And I’m going to stay motivated. Tonight’s chat with everyone on twitter doing the #fitblog and #spiritofshe — you guys have kept me going! All your amazing work deserves some serious shoutouts. So here’s some love from me to you.

So here’s to the new plan, and checking in, and being plain AWESOME

  3. Great plan! I am laying in bed guilty as anything because I am now 18 miles behind on my training this week – and it’s only Wednesday! But I am going to hit that reset button before I fall asleep, and tomorrow will be a new day with new goals and obstacles to tackle. Thanks for the motivation!
